Ethylene-propylene (EPDM) is an Excellent General purpose rubber and relatively inexpensive material.Excellent resistance to heat,cold,ozone,and ultraviolet light.Also has excellent chemical resistance and excellent electrical insulation property.
Due to its Chlorine and Chloramine resistance,so apply in hydraulic and braking systems due to its excellent Glycol resistance.EPDM O-rings provide superior resistance to water and steam,alcohols,glycol engine coolants and similar polar fluids.EPDM o-ring compounds protect against brake fluids.EPDM O-rings is not recommended for petroleum based fluids,concentrated acids and fuels.
EPDM O-Rings can be cured with either Sulphur or Peroxide.Sulphur curing is less expensive and easier to process.Peroxide curing is more difficult to process but provides better chemical,thermal,and aging resistance.
EPDM rubber is also color-stable,which means that EPDM O-Rings won¡¯t stain mating surfaces.EPDM O-Rings also provides good electrical insulation,alkali, mild acidic solvents resistance.
EPDM o-rings(Ethylene propylene) have a temperature range of -55¡ãC to +125¡ã (special compounds can perform in higher temperatures),has very good flexibility at low temperature.
